British wool, working in your soil

Tree Wool is a biodegradable weed control for trees and hedges, made in Yorkshire from British sheep’s wool. It works away quietly in your soil while young planting gets established.

A dense wool mat that sits around the base of a newly planted tree or shrub.

It blocks the light weeds need to grow and keeps moisture in the root zone where it matters.

The 500 × 500 mm mat comes pre-cut with a slit to the middle, so it slips easily around the stem.

Lay it down, peg it in and that tree is looked after (6 pegs per mat – sold separately)

No chemicals

The wool blocks the light that weeds and grasses need to get going, so there is no call for herbicides or sprays. Your trees keep the water and the nutrients for themselves.

No plastic backing

It is pure wool all the way through. No plastic netting, no woven backing and no synthetic layer to peel off later.

Deer repellent

Raw wool carries the natural scent of lanolin, which browsing deer and rabbits tend to keep away from. That bit of protection comes built into the mulch.

Fully biodegradable

It is natural sheep’s wool, so it breaks down into the soil and feeds the ground as it goes. Nothing to lift, bag up or send to landfill.

Made in Yorkshire

Manufactured in Yorkshire from British fleece. It keeps the work local and puts a fair return back to the farmers who supply the wool.
