Elegant tree for woodlands and shelter belts. Tolerates acid soils, upland and exposed conditions. Cream flowers and orange-red berries.

When the height of trees cease to be measured in centimetres tall, they are then measured in terms of their girth by using a flexible tape measure around the circumference.

Girth is a measurement of the distance (circumference) around the trunk of a tree measured vertically to the stem of the trunk at 4′ (1.2 m) above ground level.

This measurement is used to compare the size and growth of trees of different species with the relationship between girth and height being approximately similar.
