Alnus Glutinosa – Common Alder

Bushy tree with sticky young growths and both male and female yellow catkins in March. Once used extensively to make clogs in the North of England ! Fruit cones turn woody and persist on the tree in the winter making an attractive feature. Height 25m (80ft)

Particularly suited to damp, boggy ground and beside water-courses. Fast-growing tree with cones and catkins.

Important Note:-

Trees of 12/14 cm girth size, are priced and supplied root balled due to their size. Taking into account the additional weight and length of the tree, it will not be possible to deliver this size Nationwide – LOCAL DELIVERY OR COLLECTION FROM OUR NURSERY is a necessity.

Please bear this in mind when placing your order.

Thank you

The planting season for bare-rooted trees and shrubs is generally between the months of November – March
