Description

A small, narrow fastigiate (Columnar) tree with upright clusters of semi double pink flowers in late spring. Foliage is bronze in spring turning green then orange-red by autumn. Very hardy tree that makes and attractive feature to a focal area of the garden.

Tightly columnar or fastigiate (upright branches), growing to an eventual height of 4–8 meters (13–26 ft) with a narrow spread of just 1.5–4 meters (5–13 ft).

Covered in dense clusters of pale pink, semi-double, lightly fragrant flowers in late April to May.

Young leaves emerge with a bronze-green tint, mature to fresh jade-green through summer, and turn a vibrant display of fiery orange, red, and gold in autumn.

Requires full sun for the best flower production and autumn color.

Tolerates most soil types (chalk, clay, loam, or sand) as long as it is moist and well-drained; it dislikes waterlogged or permanently wet roots.
