Flowers in May, acorns are sessile (directly attached / no stem) , hence the alternative name that separates it from the more well known native Quercus Robur or English (Pedunculate) Oak.
Tall, straight, elegant tree for woodlands and hedgerows. Prefers moist conditions with rapid early growth.
